Bike Sale - SPECIAL

Westside Recycle Depot
The Westside Recycle Depot located at 2925 Main St. SW, in the Home Depot parking lot, has been operating since April 1, 2010. Since then, Environmental Services has processed 64,580 Kgs (64.58 Metric Tonnes (MT)) of material from this location.

Mixed Paper:   12,050 kgs (12.05 MT)
Cardboard:      26,800 Kgs (26.80 MT)
Mixed Plastic:    3,140 Kgs (3.14 MT)
Metal:                3,350 Kgs (3.35 MT)

Environmental Services staff checks the facility daily. Unfortunately, staff is finding material left on the ground. The Westside Recycle Depot is intended to be a satellite facility for quick drop off, it is not intended for larger quantities. Residents are encouraged to break down their cardboard boxes, clean containers, remove labels and crush materials where possible. The Westside Depot does not accept specialized programs (paint, household hazardous waste, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries etc.), household glass or plastic film. Please help keep the depot clean. Residents are also encouraged to call Environmental Services at 403.948.0246 to alert Staff to any abuse at the depot.

The Eastside Recycle Depot located at 15 East Lake Hill NE. Since January 2010, Environmental Services has processed 1,023,259 Kgs (1,023.46 Metric Tonnes (MT)) of material from this location.

EcoEdge Award 2010

Some examples of winning programs include in-house waste reduction, recycling or composting, the incorporation of energy efficiency and water conservation into daily business, as well as initiating or taking part in environmental community events.

  • Anyone may nominate a business for this award and self nominations are welcome.
  • The deadline to submit nomination forms is September 10, 2009.
  • Finalists and a winner are chosen using a selection criterion determined by the City of Airdrie Environmental Services Board. All decisions made by the Board are final.
